Working for leading business units at global healthcare companies like Kimberly-Clark, Schering and Abbott gives Martin a unique eye on the client perspective. These roles led him to positions of global responsibility, where he refined his expertise in both strategy development and the implementation of targeted marketing plans. Eventually, though, his entrepreneurial, strategic and creative spirit led him to start YAMA Group.
Martin’s ability to fully connect with our clients, making their needs his own, and parlaying these needs into collaborative efforts with the team is what helps us to deliver ideas and solutions that impress our clients and have lasting impact on their audience. He is passionate about instilling joy, inspiring excellence, creating a work environment that people love coming to, and establishing enduring relationships with each team member and our clients. When Martin is not at work, he enjoys going to the gym, horseback riding, and spending time at home with his family and a house full of friends.

Yann brings with him a background that is grounded in both science and marketing. After five years at The Scripps Research Institute as a researcher in pharmacology and experimental neuroscience, he joined Abbott to lead both sales and marketing organizations in the U.S. and internationally for seven years. Starting YAMA Group was the logical next step, and he is a key player behind the strategic vision and growth of the agency.
The playful jokester of the group who is full of smart-mouthed banter, Yann is serious and highly committed when it comes to the relationships he has with our clients, and to producing creative ideas that help healthcare brands build lasting relationships with their consumers. He works hard to ensure that YAMA Group delivers outstanding work and exceptional client experiences. And when he isn’t working, Yann enjoys relaxing with his wife and kids, surfing around the world, and wearing flip-flops all day long.

Pia takes her job seriously. Really seriously. Having spent the last 12 years in healthcare communications, she understands what it takes to effectively partner with our clients, and collaborate with the team to develop project solutions that surpass clients’ expectations. Her curious nature leads her to deeply study each product, disease, environment and the people involved. And although she is a drill sergeant when it comes to timelines, budgets, and delivering work with utmost quality to our clients, she is also great at listening, adapting to changes, motivating people, and empowering the team to do their best work. I am passionate about strengthening graphic communications in healthcare, and enjoy working under pressure. FYI, Maqui comes from the Spanish word for machine – maquina.”
Don’t be fooled by his intimidating name, Maqui is the go-to guy for advice around here. From design to gourmet dishes to moral principles, the team respects his word, a lot. Maqui came to us by way of his father, who worked in pharma for more than 40 years. As they say, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Except that Maqui took the more creative route. Working as a designer for most of his life, he is dedicated to creating precise communications through clean designs free from graphic “noise.” He adeptly oversees the design team, and works closely with our strategy, project management, and technology teams to come up with potent solutions for our clients.
“Since I was a kid, I liked to make robots, drones and other electronic gadgets. But I am also a visual artist and enjoy creating artistic performances using new technologies. I believe this is the best way to experiment with technologies that have never been used for commercial purposes.”
Yep, J.P. is the technology geek of the bunch. His passion for finding creative technology solutions and integrating multiple media is apparent in the work he produces. Constantly sifting through “useless, useful and unknown technology,” as he says, he somehow always comes up with the perfect mix that delivers the best user experience for the audience. J.P. straddles big picture thinking – from idea generation to implementation – and detailed troubleshooting with agility, and his perfectionistic and inquisitive personality drives him to find solutions for even the most challenging projects out there. Not surprisingly, his mantra is, “Yes, we can do that.”
